Reading Copilot in the UAE
Launch opportunities

Free Access

We are selecting a small group of schools in the UAE for some pilot trials of Reading Copilot, as part of our launch plans in the region.

If you are one of those schools, a group of your parents will have free access to the Reading Copilot resources for 4 weeks.

We will do an initial assessment with you in school, which takes about 15 minutes per child. We will then support the parents directly, so that they can achieve maximum progress with a short session each day at home. So there will be no cost for the school at all.

What You Can Expect

The ideal students to choose will be aged 9-14, with strong dyslexic tendencies. Their reading should be well below your expectation for their general intelligence.

We will then expect to see a gain of 1-2 years of reading age in those 4 weeks.

If the school or their parents want to continue after the pilot trial, that can be arranged.

Fast and Easy to Implement

You can see this impact happening at no cost during this pilot trial. All you need to do is introduce us to the students for the assessment process and then introduce us to their parents.

Once you have seen the results in the pilot trial, you can choose whether to expand the use of the programme or not.

What UK Teachers are Saying

Watch Some Student Transformations

Here are some videos to give you a feel for the sort of transformation that is possible, even after years of prior frustration.

Each video is a before and after view of their reading:

Age Appropriate

We have suitable formatting and suitable content for the full range of ages. That is critical for achieving good engagement.

Hands Free and Quick

The system is designed so that the student can do their daily sessions unassisted.

This is important for building their psychology of ability and autonomy.

It also means that a single teaching assistant can. monitor a group of 5-10 students doing the daily reading practice in just 10 minutes.

Holistic

There are three main reasons for persistent reading frustration:

1 – Visual Issues. Despite having passed an eye test, some students struggle with small text.
2 – Decoding Weakness. Despite years of phonics, some students keep guessing short words.
3 – Poor Comprehension. Some students can read accurately, but struggle with comprehension.

It is only when you deliver a solution to each and every difficulty a child has, that you can expect dramatic progress. Our Baseline Analytical Reading Test (BART) will deliver a clear review of exactly what is causing frustration for an individual child.

Evidence Based

You can check the results of the randomised control trial done by the Open University here. The cohort of 90 children were 2+ years behind and all caught up bar one within 6 months of trainertext intervention. You can read a summary here.

We have been delivering reading intervention processes since 2008 and have worked directly with over 15,000 reluctant readers and dyslexics.

We are always testing new techniques, but all the elements of our core processes have been tested many times.

Expert Supported

The process will be overseen by one of the team here, who is trained on the patterns of all nine potential causes of reading frustration that we track.

They are there to make sure you achieve the best and fastest results with all the interventions you are running. That will save you from wasted time and doubts about what is possible.

This also removes the need for lengthy training processes. You can get started right away.

Cost

Our aim is for Reading Copilot to be practical to implement. So the staff costs are low and the financial costs are low as well. Once we have discussed your situation, we can give you a cost for implementing Reading Copilot.

It will be much less than the ongoing costs of reading frustrations in the school.

Life Changing for Every Teacher and Student

The sad truth is that many of these students can begin to despair of being successful in school.

Sometimes that frustration can lead to deteriorating behaviour patterns, which impacts the daily experience of every teacher and student in the school.

When they break through to a strong level of functional reading, it often transforms them as individuals and improves everyone’s lives.
