Reading Tutoring that is fast, efficent and cost effective

Short online sessions

Learning to read is hard work cognitively. When you book a 45 minute session with a tutor, at least half of that is wasted. 

We use a 30 minute session, which allows us to greet and chat with your child, do 15 minutes of intensive tutoring and then have a few minutes to wrap up and make some notes.

This is much more cost effective for you (at just £37/$47 per session) and lot more convenient too.

Efficient

For a reading intervention to be effective, the tutor needs to understand why a child is frustrated and then bring the solution that fits that difficulty.

For instance, here are some of the patterns we are looking for:
– Guessing/errors with short words
– Difficulty with long words
– Skipping words and lines
– Difficulty blending sounds into words
– Difficulty with fluency

All of those patterns indicate different possible issues that need different help. Once you bring the right solution for the individual child, progress can be 2x, 3x or even 10x faster.

We view the work we do with individual children as an almost sacred duty. When they crack reading, their whole life opens up before them with masses of potential. While they continue to struggle with reading, most of the doors of opportunity will be slammed shut on them.

Age Appropriate

We have suitable formatting and suitable content for the full range of ages. That is critical for achieving good engagement.

The system is designed so that the student can do their daily sessions unassisted. 

This is important for building their psychology of ability and autonomy.

It also means that a single teaching assistant can. monitor a group of 5-10 students doing the daily reading practice in just 10 minutes.

Evidence Based

We have been delivering reading intervention processes since 2008 and have worked directly with over 15,000 reluctant readers and dyslexics. 

We are always testing new techniques, but all the elements of our core processes have been tested many times.

The sad truth is that many of these students can begin to despair of being successful in school. 

Sometimes that frustration can lead to deteriorating behaviour patterns, which impacts the daily experience of every teacher and student in the school.

When they break through to a strong level of functional reading, it often transforms them as individuals and improves everyone’s lives.
